Dec. 29 is the date for a youth livestock judging school at the Marvin and Mae Maude Ranch at Hermosa, S.D. The judging is open to all 4-H members and FFA members. 

There will be six livestock classes to judge and oral reasons will be given. For more experienced judges this is a great warm-up for 2019 Black Hills Stock Show Youth Day. 

Awards will be given for top two individuals in each age division. Counties will receive a copy of the results. 

Registration is at noon with the contest to follow at 1 p.m.

Directions to the ranch (address is 15849 Lower Spring Creek Road, Hermosa): From New Underwood, 20 miles south, watch for signs; From Hermosa, take Highway 40 east seven miles to Spring Creek Cutoff Road then follow Spring Creek Road 13 miles to a cluster of two mailboxes on the right with a CJ&L Livestock sign, turn right down the driveway; From Rapid City via Highway 79, from the Minnesota Street light in Rapid City, travel six miles to Lower Spring Creek Road turnoff (Hart Ranch intersection), turn left and travel 22 miles east (pavement turns into gravel), to a cluster of two mailboxes on the right with a CJ&L Livestock sign, turn right down the driveway.
