National Hay Summary - Week Ending Dec. 30th
Wednesday, January 04, 2017 7:41 AM
Compared to last week all forage products sold steady. Demand was light this week before New Year’s. Most producers bought enough hay the week before Christmas to meet there needs the rest of the year. Warmer temperatures has helped reduce the need to supplement cows that are turned out in stalks or in other grazing conditions. Light rain across most of the reporting region on Christmas day. Some areas had damaging winds and some areas lost power for several hours. All sales are dollars per ton FOB (freight on buyer) in the field or hay barn, unless otherwise noted. Hope everyone has a Happy New Year!
