National Slaughter Cattle Summary - Week ending Apr. 7th

Slaughter cattle lightly traded this week live mostly 4.00-5.00 lower. Dressed cattle in Nebraska though lightly tested were 8.00-10.00 lower. Boxed Beef prices as of Friday afternoon averaged 202.36 down 6.70 from last Friday. The Choice/Select spread is 9.73. Slaughter cattle on a national basis for negotiated cash trades through Friday afternoon totaled about 53,480 head. Last week’s total head count was 88,636 head.
